BOX TURTLE GAME LOG

Your Statistics Management Solution

Change the way you log your games! Throw away the bulky binders and turn to the Box Turtle Game Log.

What is Box Turtle?

Box Turtle is a sophisticated digital game log that allows you to store, track and output the statistics you need in a standard, though flexible format. The game log package allows you to record all your statistics from your games while loading them into a database. From that database, Box Turtle will allow you to print out a limitless range of reports from the general (come from behind wins) to the specific (games your Ace pitched on Tuesdays, on the road, on artificial turf), all customized to your needs. This easy to use but powerful software will allow you to get the stats that you want, when you want them, efficiently, accurately and in just a fraction of the time it may take you now.

Developed for Public/Media Relations Personnel

The Box Turtle Game Log was developed specifically for the needs of Major League Public/Media Relations personnel to track their player's stats. The primary developer and programmer of Box Turtle is a seasoned MLB Public Relations veteran. The Turtle was built with the experience of late nights in an MLB press box, the time crunch of a day game following an extra-inning night game and the pressure of hundreds of media representatives looking for the one stand out stat for an all or nothing playoff game. Box Turtle has the experience under its shell and it won't crack.

Let the Turtle help with your Game Notes

Box Turtle also takes another very important step in leaving the old binders in the dust. With Box Turtle, stats can be loaded into your game notes quickly and automatically. Just imagine opening your game notes in Microsoft Word and having all of your players stats automatically updated to include last night's game. Once Box Turtle's Game Log is updated it's database can then feed into a whole host of other Windows applications including Excel, Word, WordPerfect, Quark and Publisher.

The Turtle Can Guide Your Media Guide

How would you like another staff member working on your media guide? What if that staff member was 100% accurate and never asked for a day off? Well, Box Turtle can help with your media guide in ways only dreamed of. Using the power of XML, Box Turtle can load all of it's stored data into whatever publishing program you are using. Whether it is a player's stat split or his fielding stats, Box Turtle can put them into your media guide without the need for re-transcribing. That means Box Turtle is not only efficient, but also accurate, free of the havoc a typo can bring to a media guide.

Box Turtle Knows History

Another of the great advantages to Box Turtle is that a player's entire career can be loaded into the database and then accessed at any time as easily as the current season's stats. Once a game is updated, you could have a player's entire career splits ready to be viewed, printed or downloaded. Every game he ever played is at your fingertips.

How Does the Turtle Work?

Once Box Turtle is installed on your system and the application is running, use the simple forms to enter the game information and stats for a game. Once the information is in once, you never have to enter it again.

Since the data is then stored in a database, it can be accessed by any number of applications that run on your computer. Plus, it has it's own report writer that will give you your reports in your chosen format. These reports can be viewed on screen or printed.

Box Turtle is portable. It can run on your network server so that it can be accessed by multiple users or downloaded to a laptop. Updating can take place on or off your network.

This Turtle is Going Places

In the future, Box Turtle will also have a feature that will allow you to query for specific stats using your Palm Pilot or other PDA. What this means is that if a reporter asks you for a specific stat while you are standing on the field before a game, you can use your PDA to access the database and get the stat you are looking for. This is just one of the many innovations that are on the horizon for Box Turtle.
